In the book of Nehemiah we are told, “the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Joy is mentioned in many places in God’s word, including the list of the fruit of the Spirit. Stop and think about how much joy you have in serving the Lord. If have not been able to detect much joy lately, think about why that is. Are you allowing something to block your joy? Joy comes from God. The psalmist wrote, “in your presence is fullness of joy.” Jesus said in John 15, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.” The psalmist writes these encouraging words, “weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.”
Thank God for His joy which He shares with us each day.
